I personally hadnt looked at websites yet but will check out that link... found some interesting looking existing trees made out of type and some general tree illustration and a few written bits but I had no idea quite how broad a subject gardening was... some of these guys take it way too seriously from what I've found!!! haha. What type of gardening are we looking it. Mainly things relevant to the tree for now? As that seems our main idea... like stuff to do with the roots and leaves and things... any thoughts/ ideas?
yeah - i was thinking about relating gardening to growth maybe? taking a seed - and watching it develop as your click on the links?!
so you start with a seed - and click at its base, and then watch its roots grow - the roots are entirely typographical, and the information which is presented is about the importance of a strong root structure for the anchoring of a plant, and the absorption of vital nutrients?! just uno idea!?
Well I think the whole tree thing is a good vibe, ive looked at some other interactive websites and there are some cleaver little techniques being used in some of them (will show 2moro (thurs))
Ive been looking for content and kath is right there are more areas than u think to gardening!
So ive kept it broad for now just incase and im goin to keep sketching.

I've been thinking of way that this could be illustrated to the audience. I really like the idea of the tree growing, would work well and carry you through to the end.
So are we thinking of keeping it simple and clean? Fewer images and more type? I had some idea of an earth worm, going about underground and explaining how the facts as it went along, as if they are part of the tunnels it is creating. But I really like the tree idea, feels more relevant.

OKAY! so... been looking at gardening websites - and they are shockingly shit! (well the BBC one was okay) but on the whole, SHIT.
anyways - the main reason they are all crap, is because they lack the interaction factor.
